Open Access (OA) refers to all electronic resources made widely available on the internet without licensing and copyright restrictions. These can include articles, journals, books, conference proceedings, theses, videos, music, etc. Open Access Music Journals are journals availabile on the internet that allow anyone to read, download, copy, distribute, print, etc free of charge and, as far as possible, free of technical and legal barriers. Users are permitted to "to copy, use, distribute, transmit and display the work publicly and to make and distribute derivative works in any digital medium for any responsible purpose, subject to proper attribution." (Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities, 2003).
