By Talisen. This CD goes over the more popular Middle Eastern Belly Dancing Rhythms for the Doumbek as well as other hand drums. The rhythms that on the CD are: Beledi, Ayoub, Chiftitelli, Masmoudi, Maqsoum, Karsilama, Saidi, Khaleegy, Samai. There are total of 45 tracks in all. The CD is designed for you to play along with it, these are not songs, but the basic rhythms repeated giving you a chance to practice as well as develop soloing skills. All skill levels will find this CD useful. First you will name the rhythm and then speak it. Some rhythms have variations and they will be spoken as well, then the rhythm will be played for about 2 minutes. Variations of that rhythm will follow before moving on to the next rhythm. Upon completion of the above list, the combinations of rhythms are demonstrated, specifically: Masmoudi and Chiftitelli, Beledi and Ayoub. Beledi and Maqsoum. Malfouf and Maqsoum, Ayoub and Maqsoum. This way you can hear different rhythms played together and what they would sound like. Finally we have a number of tracks of the initial rhythms played with one drum or two, showing more of how the rhythms can be played, many of them integrate the variations along with the basic rhythms thus giving you a further inside look into the listed rhythms.
