Deffs

Deffs are a large diameter frame drum with no jingles used to provide bass rhythm accompaniment. They are also spelled “daf”, “duff”, and “taf”. Common deff constructions include an inlaid frame and a goatskin head orcamelskin. Also called Daf or Taf.
