Outside Tunable Bodhrans

Outside Tunable Bodhrans. These bodhrans use a mechanical bolt to tighten or loosen the tension of the skin of the drum, allowing the pitch to be raised or lowered without having to wet or dry the skin. On outside tunable bodhrans, there are metal clamps around the outside of the rim that can be tightened or loosened with an included wrench to raise or lower the pitch of the drum. The advantage to this type of bodhran is that you can clack on the hardware with your beater, a showstopper technique if you're doing some fancy bodhran work, and a technique that has become popular in the US.
