Inner Art Works is Patricia Donahue and Barbara Manginelli. Donahue and Manginelli are musicians and composers that were inspired by the mystic and spiritual nature of the Sedona and Cottonwood desert areas of Arizona. Patricia and Barbara share their music with convalescent and nursing home residents, spiritual center groups; they donate their time and talent to community fundraisers and perform at local venues.
Patricia's formal music education consisted of two years of piano lessons starting at the age of eight and from ages ten to sixteen playing the trumpet in school bands. Patricia then ventured on her own teaching herself the guitar, writing and singing songs. As an adult living around the beautiful areas of Sedona and Cottonwood, Arizona the deeper and intuitive expression of music revealed itself through the bamboo flute.
Barbara grew up in a musical family. Her father was a singer and songwriter and her grandfather was a music teacher and composer. She never had any formal training, but she sang in her high school choir and taught herself how to play the guitar. While living in Arizona, she mentored with a master bamboo flute maker. Inspired by the mysticism of the desert, Barbara made bamboo flutes and composed music for the CD, "Flowering Sage" with her partner, Patricia.
